Vineyards of Kyjov

The vine is grown on the southern slopes and even on plateaus in higher see level. Good wines with higher acidity are produced from vines, grown in level of 550 m, namely in the Vresovice village. Possibility of vine growing is limited by "Zdanicky les" forest and Chriby on the north. The region is not too large [1060 producers, 31 viticulture communities and 1,095 acres of vineyards]. Damborice, Bohuslavice, Zarosice, Svatoborice, Nechvalin, Skoronice and Sobulky are the largest villages. "Svatovavrinecke" [St. Lawrence's], "Muller-Thurgau" and "Veltlinske zelene" [Veltlin green] dominate here.
